Qualifications
I have a Practitioner Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy (PDHyp) from the ICCHP – Am a Registered Hypnotherapist on the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) having been awarded the General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (GQHP) by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). I am also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), a body set up with government support to protect the public by providing a UK voluntary register of health practitioners.
About Me
Following a career developing policy, planning, and commissioning health and social services, I retired from the NHS as a health service commissioner in charge of HIV prevention and sexual health promotion across London. Finding the subject of hypnosis fascinating, and wanting to help people, I signed up with the ICCHP to retrain as a hypnotherapist.
CNHC’s register has been approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, a body accountable to Parliament. Originally from Manchester, I have been lucky enough to live in Hampstead, in close proximity to the Heath, for most of my adult life. So when I decided to establish my hypnotherapy practice from my home in Fleet Road, Hampstead Heath Hypnotherapy seemed the obvious name.
I work in a solution-focused way, setting goals according to the client’s requirements. I am trained to use Rational Emotive Cognitive Behaviour Hypnotherapy (RECBH), a form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) combined with hypnotherapy. I am a white gay man, but I promise to respect all clients regardless of age, race, sexuality, gender identity, background, religion or political belief
Consultations and Fees
An introductory consultation generally lasts about an hour and a half, with subsequent treatment sessions lasting just one hour. Some issues can be treated in just one or two sessions (notably smoking cessation), others may require up to six sessions. My normal fees are £75 per session.
